For Sigmatek LASAL PLC controllers, SQL4Automation provides two sample projects. One demonstrates the UTF-8 connection, the other a UTF-16 (Unicode) connection to an SQL database. The sample projects are configured to run immediately on the LARS test environment. No additional hardware is required.

Integration of the SQL4LASAL Library

The SQL4LASAL library Receives parameters such as the IP address and port of the connector as well as the SQL string. The return values of the SQL query are written to a two-dimensional string array.

SQL4Automation Link Settings

The SQL4Automation Connector is operated with the target settings “Default” or “UTF-16” for Sigmatek LASAL controllers. The configuration is completed in just a few clicks. On the controller side, the corresponding sample must also be selected. For the standard communication mode, use the SQL4LASAL_ASCII example, and for UTF-16, the SQL4LASAL_UCS2 example.
